Mogarnad, July 31 : On July 28, 2024, a free health camp was held at Deva Matha Sabha Bhavan from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, organized by the Deva Matha Youth Movement (ICYM) Mogarnad Unit and the Service Commission of Mogarnad Parish in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore. The event aimed to provide health check-ups for parishioners and the local community of Mogarnad.

The camp commenced with a short formal program, where Ms. Renisha Joylin Pinto served as the master of ceremonies. Dignitaries present included Fr. Anil Canute Dmello, Director of DMYM and Parish Priest of Mother of God Church, Dr. Jeffrey Lewis, MD in General Medicine and Assistant Professor at FMMC, Dr. Sonia Sequeira, Associate Professor of Community Nursing and camp coordinator, Mr. Santhosh Dsouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Wilfred Lobo, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Emiliana Dcunha, Coordinator of all church commissions, Mr. Charles Pereira, Head of the Service Commission, Mr.Prashanth Lewis, Animator of DMYM and Mr. Melroy Dsouza, President of DMYM.

The event began with a prayer led by the prayer team, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Melroy D'Souza. Dr. Jeffrey Lewis, along with other dignitaries, inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and delivering a speech on the importance of health, particularly women's health. Dr. Sonia Sequeira provided an overview of the facilities and services available at Father Muller Medical College. The dignitaries were then felicitated, and the formal program concluded with a vote of thanks.

The health check-up camp ran until 12:30 pm, with approximately 275 attendees. Services offered included general medicine consultations, sugar and BP tests, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology (OBG), ophthalmology, and ECG facilities.
