Mangaluru, Nov 17 : On the 12th November 2023 , ICYM unit of Infant Mary's Church, Katipalla organised an event named “Adhli Reewaz”, an inter-ward competition with the theme of “Re-creating the Old Tradition Among Us”. Additionally there was a vibrant exhibition featuring old traditional items .

The event commenced with a prayer song, followed by the welcoming of guests by ICYM President Iral Dsouza. The honoured guests on the dais were Mr. Anthony Pereira and Ms. Stella Pereira, Rev. Fr. Santhosh Lobo, parish priest of Katipalla; Rev. Fr. George, ICYM president Ms. Iral Dsouza and Secretary Ms. Deena Dsouza. The event was compered by Ms. Reema and vote of thanks was rendered by Ms. Deena Dsouza.

After the formal program, the members of the different wards participated in various Traditional competitions such as Mudo Bandchein, Yento Volchein, Saravn Karchein etc.

This event helped the present generation to learn about the traditional activities that our ancestors were engaged in. Also the exhibition of traditional items helped everyone to either evoke their knowledge or to learn about traditional items . This event was a resounding success , bringing together the parish community .
