Mangaluru, Oct 16 : The ICYM Central Council of the Mangalore Diocese held an official meeting with the Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, on the 12th of October 2023 at 6 pm, at the Bishop's House in Mangalore. The program commenced with a prayer led by the bishop. Mr. Anil Sequeira, the Diocesan ICYM Immediate past president, warmly welcomed the gathering. The members of the ICYM Central Council introduced themselves to the bishop. Ms. Wilma Lobo, ICYM Diocesan secretary, presented a report of activities and also briefed about the upcoming programs.

In his address, the Bishop encouraged the members, stating that the youth should focus on entrepreneurship rather than seeking work elsewhere. He also emphasized that facing challenges is essential for personal growth and resilience. "Leadership through Service" is the motto of ICYM, and he urged the youth to serve society, particularly their parents, emphasizing the priceless satisfaction that comes from serving one's parents. The bishop expressed his appreciation for all the ICYM Council members for their outstanding contributions to society and the Diocese.

Ms. Lavisha D'Souza, ICYM Diocesan Lady Vice President, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the gathering. A memento was presented to the Bishop as a token of appreciation. The program concluded with a group photograph.
