Belthangady, May 23 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement Belthangady Deanery organized Stay Camp 2k23 at Holy Redeemer English Medium School in Belthangady. The camp took place from the evening on May 20, 2023, until the morning on May 21, 2023. The event began with an inauguration program after all participants had arrived.
Belthangady Parish Priest Fr. Walter Dmello, ICYM Belthangady Unit Director and Principal of Holy Redeemer School Fr. Clifford Pinto, Belthangady Deanery Director Fr. Praveen Dsouza, Belthangady Deanery Representative Winston Sequiera, Central Council Nominated Member Sushanth Fernandes, Belthangady Deanery President Prakash Dsouza, Belthangady Unit President Glen Monis, Belthangady Unit Secretary Lavita Lobo and Belthangady Deanery Secretary Stephy Moras were present on the dais.
The program began with a prayer song followed by a welcome address from Glen Monis. The lamp was then lit to inaugurate the event. Fr. Praveen Dsouza spoke a few words and wished success to the program while Fr. Clifford addressed the gathering.
The new parish priest of Belthangady Parish, Fr. Walter Dmello was welcomed by the dignitaries on the dais and delivered his presidential speech. Stephy Moras rendered Vote of Thanks while Belthangady Deanery vice president Emerson Crasta anchored the program.
After the stage program concluded, Jaison Crasta (Central Council President for 2021-22) and Vishma Dchuna (Central Council Secretary for 2021-22) conducted group activities for all participants. Later in the evening Fr. Praveen Dsouza led an evening prayer followed by dinner and a baila dance program. The event concluded with a fire camp and experience sharing.
The following morning, breakfast was arranged for all participants before they departed. Overall, the Stay Camp 2k23 was a successful event that brought together members of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement Belthangady Deanery for a fun and meaningful experience. Around 35 Council members and Belthangady unit volunteers were present.
