Bajjodi, Dec. 27 : A Golden Jubilee is always an occasion of Thanksgiving and Celebration.
On December 23, 2022, Asst. Priest of Infant Mary Parish, Bajjodi, Fr Patrick Lobo, celebrated his 50 years of Priesthood and Sincere Service to the Church and Society. Provincial Fr. George Santhumayor, Fr. Patrick’s brother Fr. Valerian Lobo, City Deanery Dean Fr. James Dsouza, Fr. Michael Santhumayor, Carmelite Priests from Carmel hill, Madanthyar, Koteshwar and Ranipura were present. The Celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass at 5pm which was concelebrated by 28 priests. Provincial Rev. Fr. Santhumayor preached an inspiring homily. At the end of the Mass, Parish Priest Fr. Ivan D'souza wished Fr. Patrick Lobo and thanked everyone.
Soon after the mass a Felicitation Programme was held in the Parish Hall. The Programme began with a Prayer song by the Altar Servers which was followed by a Welcome Dance by little children. Parish Priest welcomed dignitaries and the gathering. There was a Cake Cutting Ceremony that followed. Fr. Maurice Dsouza OCD raised the toast on the occasion after which a flashback on Fr. Patrick Lobo's life was played. There was then the Felicitation wherein the Shawl, Peta, garland, Fruits & Maan Patr were awarded to Fr. Patrick Lobo. Maan Patr was read and presented by the PPC Secretary Mrs. Irene Pinto. The Choir wished Fr. Patrick Lobo with a lovely song. The special edition of the Church Magazine -‘Bajjodicho Kurov’ was released by Fr. Patrick Lobo. Feelings of appreciation and gratitude and best wishes were expressed by St. Joseph Monastery Superior Fr. Charles Serrao, Provincial Fr. George Santhumayor and Mr. Victor Miranda (on behalf of members of Fr. Patricks Family). Fr. Patrick Lobo in his message expressed his joy and gratitude and thanked everyone for contributing in their own ways in his journey of priesthood that made this day possible.
PPC Vice President - Mr. Prakash Saldanha proposed the Vote of Thanks. The Programme was compered by Mr. Aloysius Dsouza. Fr. Rayan Pinto blessed the food and the food counters were open for the guests. All the guests - beginning with priests, the religious, relatives of Fr. Patrick, different Associations of the Parish and the parishioners wished Fr. Patrick on this auspicious occasion and proceeded to partake in the dinner that was served. Nearly 50 priests, 25 religious sisters and 400 parishioners witnessed this programme.
