Moodbidri, Dec 24 : Carmel School Moodbidri celebrated the spectacular Annual Day of Classes UKG, II, IV, VI, IX and X on 17 December 2022 in the school auditorium. It was an occasion where all the students showcased their talents through dance, music and drama. The programme began at 2.30 p.m. with the arrival of President of the day, Sister Priya Maria A.C., Chief Guest Mrs. Renita Dsouza, Head Counsellor, Alva’s Education Foundation Moodbidri, Guest of Honour Mr. Mohammed Arif, President Rotary Club Moodbidri along with other dignitaries. They were welcomed by the symphonic rhythm of the School Band. The other dignitaries who graced this occasion were Sr.Jyothi the Principal, Sr.Elena the Administrator, Sr.Leonilla Headmistress Holy Rosary High School, Mr. Jossy Menezes Vice President P.T.A. and P.T.A. members. Sr.Jyothi introduced the guests and extended a warm welcome to the guests and all the dignitaries present. Mrs. Shiny Crasta proposed the vote of thanks. It was an occasion of feast and festivity which included the celebration of the talents of the students. The cultural bonanza began with the ebullient students presenting an array of cultural programmes with colourful costumes. The programme commenced with a scintillating Prayer Song. The graceful dancers welcomed the gathering to witness the multifarious talents of the school through a graceful Bharatanatyam performance. Musical tunes played by the orchestra of school, echoed throughout the auditorium.

The UKG students showcased a beautiful dance on colours with their vibrant and splendid performance. Class IIA students portrayed the Theme – ‘Save Environment’ by staging a dance drama with a message on saving our nature. The students of class IIB displayed “Tulunadu Vaibhava’ the richness of Tulunadu’s culture and heritage of tulu people with their mind blowing performance. The students of class IVA and B exhibited the role played by Indian farmers through a dance drama. The students of class IVA and B displayed folk dances of different states creating a sense of unity in diversity among the people. Students enthused the audience with their impressive classical Silatam dance of the state of Tamil Nadu. A value based skit was performed by the students of class IX on harvesting the human organs to save life. A dance drama on cordial relationship between India and Pakistan was enacted by the students of class X. The Annual Report was presented by the faculty Sr. Premal A.C. and Mr. Prajwal Pereira.

On this occasion the students were awarded 1st and 2nd place in academics for classes LKG, II, IV, VI, IX and X. Best Excellence Award, Best Artist Award, Best Improvement Award, Creative Student Award, Best Helping Hand Award, Best Athlete Award and Best Outgoing Student Award. Toppers in Diocesan Examination Mangaluru in Catechism and Value Education exams of class X and the winners of Orchid squad and Aster squad were honoured for their outstanding team coordination. The toppers of the Board Exams of class X for the year 2021-22 Miss Viola Cera Pinto, Miss Sania Menezes and Miss Akanksha Nayak were felicitated by the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest Mrs. Renita Dsouza in her address was amazed by the welcome and confidence of the students on stage. In her speech she congratulated the students, good schooling and their value based education. She was impressed by the fabulous performance showcased by the students across different grades and appreciated the choice of themes performed by the students. She encouraged the parents to be a mentor and appreciate their child. She wished the students, parents and institution all the very best in their future endeavours.

The celebration ended with the National Anthem. It was indeed a joyous moment for all of them.

The programme was beautifully compered by Saanvi Riona Dsouza of class VI B and Keerthan of class VIII.
