Mangaluru, Dec 19 : The Santha Mother Theresa Vichara Vedike in association with the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh, St Aloysius College and Samarasya Mangalore organized ‘Souharda Christmas 2022’ here at Mother Teresa Peace Park on the SAC campus on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

The programme began with the arrival of the guests - Bishop of Catholic diocese Belthangady Dr Lawrence Mukkuji, Chancellor of Yenepoya University Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chief of Bhramakumari Samaja Bhramakumari Vishweshwari, SYS district president Maulana U K Abdul Aziz Dharami, vice chairperson of Expert Group of Institutions Dr Usha Prabha N Nayak, rector of St Aloysius College Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, principal of St Aloysius College Dr Praveen Martis, PRO of Mangalore Diocese Fr J B Saldanha, president of Santha Mother Theresa Vichara Vedike Roy Castelino, general secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal, treasurer Kishore Fernandes and  were welcomed by the host of the program.

The first and foremost perspective of the program was Peace , Unity and avoidance of Violence. The guests communicated this in a very effective way.

• Bishop Dr Lawrence quoted the saying of Mahatma Gandhi " Nature has everything for an individual's need and not for greed".
• Dr Abdulla Kunhi  conveyed his wishes regarding the coming new year and called all to avoid violence and maintain peace and unity with all religions.
• Bhramakumari Vishweshwari stated her message in a very different way by taking the gathering on a tour on spiritual meditation where all had calmed down their minds from all distractions. She also explained how the Almighty is the one and only God for all religions but in various forms and also spoke about how God is a light to this world.
• Maulana U K Abdul Aziz Dharami conveyed his message by relating the gathering to the mighty ocean and sand, as about how they will have to be good people in life.

Prior to the formal function, carol singing, Christmas cake and star making competitions were held and prizes were distributed for the winners. The park was decorated with the stars prepared by the participants.

All India Catholic Union state president Xavier Paleli and Raghu Raj Kadri compered the event.
