Moodbidri, Dec 11 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement unit of Holy Rosary Church Alangar celebrated its 47th Annual Day on 4th December 2022 at Church Grounds. The programme started at 6.30 pm. Inaugurator & Chief guest Dr. Vinay Alva Trustee - Alvas Health Centre & President - Volleyball Association Moodubidire, Chief guest Rev Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza Director - ICYM Mangalore Diocese, President of the programme Rev Fr. Walter D'souza Director - ICYM Alangar & Parish Priest Holy Rosary Church Alangar, Guests Mr. Anil John Sequeira President - ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Dr. Nishal Preemal D'souza Secretary - ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Mr. PK Thomas Corporator - Moodubidire Town Municipal Corporation, Mr. Eric Lobo Convener - Youth Commission Holy Rosary Church Alangar, Mr. Rajesh D'souza Convener - 21 Commissions Holy Rosary Church Alangar, Mr. Mithesh D'souza President - ICYM Moodubidire Deanery were present on the dias along with Mr. Ivan Pinto Animator - ICYM Alangar, Mr. Prathik D'costa President - ICYM Alangar & Ms. Flavia Lobo - Secretary ICYM Alangar.
The programme started by asking blessings of God through a Prayer Song. The programme was Inaugurated by Lighting the Lamp. President Mr. Prathik D'costa Welcomed the gathering. ICYM members Welcomed the guests by giving a Flower. Secretary Ms. Flavia Lobo read out the Annual Report. The prizes were given to the winners of various games conducted during this year.
Dr. Vinay Alva during his speech told that youths are the wealth of our nation, we should not waste it instead we should use it for 100%. Fr. Walter D'souza gave his presidential speech. He said that social work is a God's work; youths should actively participate in those activities. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza advised the youths with his message and wished for the success of the programme and congratulated the youth.
Mr. Rayanal Royce Rodrigues, Vice President - ICYM Alangar proposed the Vote of Thanks. President Mr. Prathik D'costa gave mementos to all the chief guests as a token of gratitude. Ms. Joselyn D'souza was the Master of Ceremony for the formal programme.
The various entertainment programmes like dances, skits etc were organised for the day. The main event was the tulu skit “Nana Yeth Dhina?” which was prepared by the youths under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh D'souza. Mr. Elroy Pereira was the Master of Ceremony for the cultural programme. The Dinner was arranged for all the people who were gathered for the celebration and watched the cultural programme and supported ICYM youths.
The programme went very well. Many worked for the great success of the day. Many people appreciated the programme. The programme ended with the baila dance.
