Shivamogga, Nov 1, 2024 : The Shimoga Diocese convened a planning session for the Jubilee Year 2025 with diocesan committees at Sannidhi, Shivamogga on October 31 from 9:30pm to 1pm.
The meeting was organized by Commissions Coordinator, Fr. Simon Pinto. Attendees included Bishop Francis Serrao SJ, Msgr. Stany D'Souza, Deans from four deaneries, Commission Directors, and commission members from every deanery. It was a valuable opportunity for the Diocese to come together and reaffirm its commitment to the mission of the Lord.
Bishop Francis Serrao SJ, the esteemed Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga, officially commenced the Meet by engaging in the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the significance of collective progress within the Diocese, adhering to the divine mandate. Guided by the unwavering principles of the Church, we embark on this journey as a unified and influential community, committed to exemplifying our faith through our actions.
The Commission Coordinator, Reverend Father Simon Pinto, delivered a presentation on strategic planning for the year 2025. He provided guidance using the Jubilee Year program, CCBI Planner, and Regional Planner as frameworks.
Subsequently, each commission convened to develop their respective plans for the upcoming year. The program concluded at 1:00 p.m. Chancellor, Reverend Father Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, welcomed the Bishop and attendees. Reverend Father Santhosh Pereira read the Word of God, and Sister Treesa Lidiya BS led the prayer. Reverend Father Simon Pinto expressed gratitude to all participants. The meeting concluded with a luncheon.
