Sancoale – Goa, June 15 : On 15th June 2024, the Holy Family Sisters, at Sancoale -Goa, thanked God and recommitted themselves to the vision and mission of Founder Fr. Faustino De Souza on the 89 Foundation Day of the Congregation. Due to Sunday, the event of (16 June) was anticipated today.

The Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jacob Shally sfx, on the theme,” Govai: Porgottnnechem Probhavik Hatiar” (Witness: an Effective Tool for Proclamation), who reminded the sisters of the witness that they are called to be and to give wherever they work and live. Fr. Shally spoke of the Founders Vision and legacy that need to be continued and the downfall of some congregations after drifting away from the founder’s vision and mission.

He also appreciated and encouraged the sisters for the legacy that is continued with love and dedication.

The formees at the keyboard helped the gathering to participate in the Eucharist lively.

The Directress of Holy Family Communication Centre, Sr. Molly Fernandes, addressed the gathering before garlanding of Founders Bust saying:

  • We mark this day thanking God for our Founder and the founding sisters, for their dedication to serve the congregation, that this day is
  • To celebrate with Joy and come together
  •  89th Foundation Day - the pinnacle of service and dedication
  • To renew our commitment to the core Values and Mission of the Founder.
  • To bridge the gap. That the younger sisters learn from the wisdom of senior or elderly sisters and the elderly Sisters remain open to youngsters and find inspiration and lastly
  • To evolve in the midst of adversity continuing the mission and vision.

After garlanding the Bust of Fr. Faustino, the Savera magazine was released. Something that touched everyone was when the little girl kissed the bust of Founder Fr. Faustino, the lover of children.

The celebration began the previous evening with a meaningful prayer service on the theme: “WITNESS: AN EFFECTIVE TOOL FOR PROCLAMATION”.
