Mangaluru, Feb 3 : World Cancer Day was observed on February 1, 2025, at Carmel School CBSE, Kotekar with a poignant and enlightening programme. The program began with a prayer, seeking divine blessings and guidance. This was followed by a welcome dance performed by the students, setting the tone for the event.

The welcome address was then delivered by Ruhali and Tanvi, warmly welcoming the gathering.

The significance of World Cancer Day was creatively showcased through a small act, which effectively conveyed the importance of cancer awareness and prevention.

A thought-provoking skit, "Care is Cure," was performed by the students, emphasizing the importance of care and support for cancer patients.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Chief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kumar Y, from K.S Hegde Medical Academy's Pathology Department. Dr. Sunil Kumar Y delivered a guest speech on cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection. He also shared valuable insights with the students on how to take care of their health.

In addition to his speech, Dr. Sunil Kumar Y distributed certificates to the winners of the state-level math table competition organized by Generation Next in 2024-25. He congratulated the winners on their achievement.

The programme also featured a motivational dance performance, spreading awareness about cancer prevention and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Anah, expressing gratitude to the guests, teachers, and students for making the event a success.

The event was graced by the presence of Sr. Pramila D'Souza AC, Principal, Anitha D'Souza A.C., Vice Principal and Sr. Ashwina A. C. Coordinator.
