Vamanjoor - Mangaluru, Nov 12 : On 7th November 2024, St Raymond's Pre- University College came alive with the vibrant colors and spirit of Kannada Puneeth Parva, a day dedicated to celebrating the formation of Karnataka as a state and honoring the rich heritage, language, and culture of the Kannada people. The celebration was organized with great enthusiasm, bringing together students and staff in a shared love for Karnataka's traditions and achievements.
Dignitaries lit the lamp to the tune of “Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa”.
The students presented a variety of cultural performances that captured the essence of Kannada culture, including Classical and Folk Dances, highlighted Karnataka's traditional dances, Kannada Songs etc.,
Distinguished guest Mrs. Yashodha, Kannada Lecturer, Government PU college Balmata shared her thoughts on Kannada heritage. She emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the Kannada language and culture among the youth.
Words of wisdom regarding Kannada language was shared by PTA president Mrs. Devanandini Marla. Principal Sr Anita Lydia, spoke about the beauty and simplicity of Kannada language and encouraged Students to learn Kannada. She also emphasised on the importance of learning Kannada. Principal encouraged the students to write a poem or Kavitha or a story of their own in Kannada thus to be the poets of the future.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shravya expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making Kannada Puneeth Parva a memorable event.
The entire program was coordinated by Mr. Hemanth, lecturer in Kannada.
The program was compered by Deepika, Anisha and Roulathul.
The day served as a reminder of the pride they take in the state and reinforced their commitment to keeping Kannada traditions alive in the college community.
