Mangaluru, Nov 1, 2024 : In the vibrant atmosphere of Mount Carmel auditorium, the students of III C & D came together to celebrate the triad celebrations with the theme, “From Karnataka’s Heart to India’s Spirit: A fusion of Festive Lights and Unity” - Kannada Rajyotsava, Diwali and National Unity Day, a fusion of cultural pride and communal harmony. The programme opened with a serene prayer song, beautifully sung by the students, setting a peaceful tone. Following this, they delighted the audience with an energetic welcome dance. The ebullient students Dhwani Lokanatha, Saanvi H, Alan Steeve Serrao and Vishruth S Y warmly welcomed and introduced the chief guest Mrs Sangeetha Sequeira, Head of the Counselling Department at St. Aloysius Pre University College, Mangaluru. The chief guest and other dignitaries paid homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by garlanding his portrait.

The students then highlighted the importance of Kannada Rajyotsava through their speeches, resonating with pride, hope and igniting a love for Kannada heritage. The programme showcased a vibrant Kannada dance celebrating the richness of the language and culture, followed by an upbeat action song where students proudly praised their school. They also presented a Diwali skit on eco-friendly celebrations and protecting nature, followed by a joyful dance wishing everyone a Happy Diwali. The National Unity Day fashion show featured the traditional attire from various Indian States celebrating the theme of “Unity in Diversity”.

The winners of the Quiz competition were felicitated by the chief guest. In her inspiring message, she highlighted how our differences are like the seven colours of the rainbow, each adding their beauty and vibrancy, thereby stressing the need to foster unity amidst diversity.

The programme drew to a fitting conclusion with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Pranavi Rao, Christine Joseph and Jesfrin Princia Cutinho, followed by everyone paying respect to our Karnataka State by singing the State Anthem.

The programme of the Pre-Nursery and Nursery children began with a prayer and lighting of the diyas. Their faces were lit with radiance of hope along with the lighted diyas. They recited poems in Kannada. The nursery teachers described the significance of the Karnataka flag and made the children to do the Karnataka Flag activity. Handmade paper lanterns and diyas were taught to the children which were then used to decorate their school premises.
