Vamanjoor - Mangaluru, Oct 3 : The inaugural ceremony of NSS Annual Camp of St. Raymond's P.U. College, Vamanjoor was held on October 1, 2024 at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath upgraded Government Higher Primary School, Gandhinagar.

Rev. Sr.Dr. Lilly Pereira B. S. Provincial superior and corporate Manager, Bethany congregation, Mangalore province presided over the function. In her presidential address she emphasized on the significance of leadership among the youth for the overall progress and development of the Nation. She also encouraged the NSS volunteers to work selflessly for the betterment of the Society.

Rev. Fr. Benjamin Pinto, Parish Priest, Our Lady of Immaculate Conception church, Urva blessed the occasion with his radiant words. In his speech, Father insisted the Students not to hide their abilities and be aware of inner strength given to them by God to fulfill their passion.

The annual NSS camp was inaugurated by Mr James Cutinho, Block Education Officer, Mangalore North Zone. By addressing the NSS volunteers, sir emphasized on the significance of unity among the youth irrespective of their caste, creed and religion for the overall progress and development of the Nation.

The chief guest of the day Mrs. Vedavathi BK, Block Resource Centre Coordinator enlightened the students with the importance of social service and its role in the overall personality development of an individual. She also appreciated the NSS volunteers for the initiative taken to provide selfless service for the betterment of the society.

Sr. Vithalis, Superior, St. Raymond’s convent, Mr. Manoj Kumar, President, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath upgraded Government Higher Primary School, Gandhinagar, Mr. Tharanath U, President, Alumni Association, Mr. M. Sikandar, CRP, Cluster Resource Centre, Mrs. Sharmila D'souza, Headmistress, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath upgraded Government Higher Primary School, Gandhinagar, Mr. John Moras, Pride Member of PTA Association were the esteemed guests of the day. Sisters of St. Raymond's Convent, Heads of Institution of St Raymond’s Campus were present for the Inaugural Ceremony.

Programme was directed by Sr. Anita Lydia BS, Principal, St. Raymond's P U College, coordinated by Mr. Jayaram, NSS Program Officer. Mrs. Savitha Menezes welcomed everyone. Mr. Hemanth anchored the event. Mrs. Anitha Ferrao proposed the vote of thanks.
