Showcasing the potentials of 2023-2025 batch

Vamanjoor, Sep 30, 2024 : “Talent is a Universal Gift. Everyone is born with a talent. But it takes a lot of courage to use it.”

A talent show not only provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talent but also motivates other students to come forward and polish their secret potential. Young students have an ocean of hidden talent within them and St. Raymond's PU College believes in letting the budding enthusiasts come forward and shine. Ray Fiesta 2024 was a two-day fest of talents and a vibrant celebration of the diverse skills and potentials within the college community. The talent show had a massive array of events like Variety, Yakshagana, solo and group dances, Classical music, Kolata, ad-mad show, mono acting, quiz etc. The event featured performances that highlighted individual and group talents and aimed to provide a platform for students to present their unique abilities, promote creativity, develop healthy competition and foster community spirit.

It was on the bright lovely morning of 27th September when the grand event began. Sr. Lavita BS, Headmistress of St. Raymonds English Medium Higher Primary School, President of the Event spoke to young minds and said Talents Day is an opportunity for students to shine and excel in extracurricular activities. Hence make the best use of the platform provided. Sr. Veronica SRA, Headmistress of Vidya Jyothi English Medium School was the Chief Guest. She highlighted the difference between talent, skill and hobbies. Never give the credit of your hard work to another person was her call to the student. Mr. Yathish Kudupu, Host of Peeta Creation youtube channel, Research Assistant at Mangalore University and Alumni of St. Raymond's PU College, Mr. Krishnaraj,Video Editor for Powerhouse Vine Sharan Chilimbi youtube channel, Cinematographer and Alumni of St. Raymond's PU College, Mrs. Anitha, Student Counselor for St. Raymond’s Institutions were the Guests of honor for the event. Sr. Anita Lydia BS, Principal of the college encouraged the students to bring out the best in them and wished them success for the event. The dignitaries lit the lamp and inaugurated the event by unveiling Ray Fiesta Banner in a Unique Way.

Ray Fiesta celebration began on 27 September with the variety show conducted class wise on the theme Women Empowerment. The event was a feast to the audience as the participants put their best to win the event for their respective classes. The entire event was a high voltage experience as the teams presented a spirited performance with mesmerizing dance, captivating mime show, melodious singing, dynamic acting and expressive compering. Following the variety show was Yakshagana Dance performance upholding the Traditional Folk Art of Karnataka. The main attraction was the beautiful facial expressions, dialogues, and graceful dance moves of the participants. The talented dancers from various classes danced gracefully on the theme Patriotism, Folk art - Kolata, Classical - Bharatanatyam and Contemporary bringing a smile on our faces and getting our feet tapping. The students acted out confidently in an ad-mad show displaying their creativity, innovation and thinking skills. Mr. Yathish Kudupu, Mr. Krishnaraj and Mrs. Anitha, were the judges for the events.

Ray Fiesta celebration ended on 28 September with folk singing, mono acting, pick and act, mime show and Quiz Competition. We had a tidal wave of participants who put their heart and soul in preparing themselves for this event. The auditorium was filled with energy as the performers captivated the audience with their exceptional skills and stage presence. Events like essay competition in English, Kannada, Hindi, Cartoon drawing, Shade drawing, flower arrangement, Rangoli, Short Story/ poetry writing in Hindi, Kannada, English, Solo Folk singing, Face painting, Extempore, Debate, Cooking without fire etc were conducted on weekdays in the month of August and September.

The students enthusiastically participated in the talent show and exhibited superb flair and abilities to excel in whatever they did. The Talent Day event for the 2023-2025 batch was a resounding success, It not only highlighted the individual abilities of the students but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among them. The event also provided an opportunity for students to receive recognition and appreciation for their hard work and dedication. The audience, consisting of fellow students, faculty members, applauded the participants’ achievements, boosting their confidence and motivation.
