Loretto - Bantwal, Sep 6 : "A great teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart."
On September 5th, 2024, Loretto English Medium High School celebrated "Teachers Day" with great enthusiasm and joy, honoring the dedication and hard work of our teachers. The celebrations were organised by the PTA members and the students making it a memorable day for everyone. A series of games were organised by the PTA members and the students which included fun and engaging activities for the Teachers.
The celebration began with a warm welcome by the students, followed by a prayer dance. The School Correspondent Rev. Fr. Francis Crasta, The School Principal Rev. Fr. Jason Vijay Monis, The School Vice Principal Mrs. Anitha Shalini Pais, Parish Council Vice President Mr. Cyprian DSouza, PTA Vice President Mr. Sachin Noronha were present on the dais. Ms. Jane Tauro from Grade X welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the celebrations and symbolized the spreading of knowledge and wisdom.
Ashel DSouza from Grade IX highlighted the importance of the day. On behalf of the students the Head Girl Sanvi Acharya and Head Boy Joshil Prinston Pinto distributed the mementos for teachers. Mr Sachin Noronha, vice president of PTA delivered a wonderful message to the teachers and congratulated them for choosing this profession and wished for the future.
The School Principal Rev. Fr. Jason Vijay Monis expressed heartfelt gratitude to the correspondent , School Management and PTA members for their support during the celebration. In his address he reminded the students that, "The future is not always smooth like butter or cake but rather like a rose on a plant, beautiful yet requiring an effort to overcome challenges".
Later The School Correspondent Rev. Fr. Francis Crasta on behalf of School Management distributed mementos and shared motivating message with the gathering. Addressing the students emphasized that teachers often demand valuable qualities like discipline and hard work for the betterment. And he also said, "Students should respect their teachers". He also reminded the teachers that the teaching profession is not about pleasing one but it's challenging one to shaping the future of the students.
A PowerPoint Presentation was displayed by the students as a part of the program. The students showcased their talent through various cultural activities for the dedication of their beloved teachers. The vote of thanks was delivered by Galvin Saldhana from Grade X. The celebration concluded with the National Anthem.
