Vamanjoor, Aug 1 : A rain drenched afternoon could not dampen the high spirits of the eager and enthusiastic parents attending the Annual General Body Meeting for the academic year 2024-25 on July 31, 2024 in the college auditorium. The meeting commenced by imploring the Divine blessings. The welcome was accorded by the Principal Sr Anita Lydia and strengthened by vibrant tapping of feet of the students. The presence of the parents in large numbers was very encouraging.
Mr. Karthik S Kateel, Founder of Swaraksha women trust, Mangalore an eminent educationist, the resource person of the Day highlighted in his speech on positive parenting, took a deep look into the soul of proper parenting. He urged parents to instill in their children good values to make them true global citizens, tolerant and kind. Bringing up children who finally make a difference to other people’s lives can be called truly successful individuals, he said. He also insisted that, "parents and guardians have a bigger role in shaping the life of their children as they are the teachers at home. They have to give space for their children in their busy schedules and become role models through actions and deeds".
Rev. Sr. Mariola BS, Correspondent of the college, presided over the Meeting. In her presidential address she highlighted the role of Parents and teachers in child development. Appraisal at every stage in the growth of the child will generate joy in learning. If the learning synchronizes with their inherent talents and aptitudes, it becomes easy and enjoyable for the children even from a young age, she added.
Mrs. Devanandini Marla, Vice President, PTA Executive committee emphasized that parents have the highest responsibility to watch their children if their children come late, they need to ask the reason and keep their eye on their behavior. If not, there is a chance that their children will go astray".
During the programme Principal and Lecturers were felicitated for the outstanding result achieved in the academic year 2023-2024. The students who worked hard to excel in board exams were also acknowledged and felicitated.
Mrs. Anitha Fearro, Lecturer in Hindi, introduced the executive Committee members to the audience. Mrs. Harinakshi, Lecturer in Commerce placed the financial report before the members. Mr.Hemanth, Lecturer in Kannada emceed the programme. Mrs. Geetha, Lecturer in Physics rendered the vote of thanks. The meeting strengthened the bond between the management, parents and the teachers.
