Mangaluru, July 18 : On July 18, 2024, Snehalaya Psycho Social Rehabilitation Centre in Manjeshwar celebrated a touching reunion. The centre rescued a mentally challenged young man from Wenlock Government Hospital in Mangalore on November 9, 2019. Unable to communicate his identity, he was named Bablu and received necessary care at the centre.
In an attempt to get official documentation, the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, Mangalore initially rejected Bablu's application for an Aadhaar card. However, they later retrieved his old Aadhaar details, revealing his true identity as Dawalsab Darubai. Though the contact number on the card was blocked, the Hubli Police Station assisted in obtaining his father's contact number.
When contacted, Dawalsab’s family, who had been searching for him for six years, was overjoyed. A video call confirmed his identity, leading to an emotional reunion on the day of Moharam. Dawalsab’s parents expressed immense gratitude to the Snehalaya team for their dedication and selfless service.
This story highlights the impact of compassion and perseverance, with Snehalaya's efforts bringing a lost son back to his family, embodying their commitment to serving society.
