Mangaluru, July 10 : To commemorate Vanamohotsava and emphasize the importance of preserving greenery and nature, St. Agnes Kindergarten School (CBSE) celebrated Green Colour Day on July 5th, 2024. Green is the colour of life, associated with nature, health, growth, and prosperity, symbolizing hope for a better future. The event aimed to raise awareness among the students about the significance of greenery and instil a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

The teachers and students were encouraged to dress up in different shades of green to mark the special occasion. The classrooms were adorned with green paper craft items, and the students enjoyed decorating flannel boards with their creations. Additionally, green veggies and fruits were included in their snacks, promoting the importance of a healthy diet and sustainable living.

Various activities were conducted in the classrooms to educate the students about the colour green. From thumb painting to collage making, colouring green pictures, and crafting paper art, the children indulged in playful learning experiences that enhanced their creativity and knowledge. A PowerPoint presentation on the significance of the colour green further enriched their understanding of the theme.

The highlight of the day was a nature walk where teachers and students explored the beauty of nature, admiring the lush green surroundings. The walk served as a reminder of the importance of preserving nature and the need to protect our environment for future generations.

A short stage program was organized by the LKG and UKG students, featuring a prayer song, speeches on the significance of the colour green, and a skit highlighting the importance of saving mother nature. The students also showcased various medicinal plants, explaining their benefits and uses, reinforcing the message of environmental conservation.

Sr Letitia A.C., the coordinator, expressed her gratitude to the teachers for their hard work and commended the students for their outstanding performances. Planting saplings together, the children were reminded of their role in saving trees, protecting nature, and maintaining a clean environment. Teacher Gulobia concluded the program with a vote of thanks, appreciating everyone’s efforts in making the day a success.

Green Colour Day at St. Agnes Kindergarten School was not just a celebration of a colour but a reminder of our responsibility towards nature and the environment. The event successfully instilled a sense of environmental consciousness among the students, encouraging them to take actions to preserve greenery and lead a sustainable lifestyle. By engaging in various activities and educational programs, the children learned valuable lessons about the importance of greenery and the need to protect our planet for a better future.
