Mangaluru, 24 June 2024 : The first and second year BBA students of St Philomena College recently visited Deccan Plastic Industry in Konaje, Mangaluru, for an educational industrial visit. The visit was organized by the Department of Business Administration as part of their ongoing efforts to enhance students’ practical knowledge and skill development.

During the visit, the industrial staff provided comprehensive information about the various operations within the industry. Students learned about the manufacturing processes of different types of chairs, including tables, baby chairs, tubs, and containers. They were given detailed insights into how these materials are produced and the functionality of over eight different machines used in the manufacturing process. The staff highlighted the efforts of the industry in recycling plastic waste, showcasing their commitment to sustainable practices.

Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, Dean & Head of the Department of Business Administration, emphasized the importance of such visits in the students’ educational journey. “Our department organizes industrial visits twice a year to various industries around Puttur and Mangalore. These visits are essential for the skill development of our students and aim to inspire entrepreneurial thinking and encourage startups,” he specified.

The visit to Deccan Plastic Industry provided the students with valuable real-world exposure to industrial operations and sustainable practices.
