Mangaluru, Feb 4 : The young pair of Arush and Mohith from Mangaluru clinched the winners’ trophy outclassing the experienced duo of Glanish and Royden in the men’s open category badminton tournament organized by the Christian Sports Association ®, Mangalore here at the Fr Muller Indoor Stadium on 2nd February 2025.

It was a festive atmosphere for the Christian community of the undivided Mangalore diocese as more than 110 teams in different age groups participated in the fourth edition of the badminton tournament organised by the association.

In his inaugural address Rev Fr John Dsouza, SJ, Director of St Aloysius I.T.I. appreciated the efforts of the association in providing a platform to the community members to come together with a spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood.

Praising the players for their hard work, dedication and sportsmanship the chief guest and one of the main sponsors of the event and a noted entrepreneur Mr Joseph D'Silva said that there are always challenges in every field and we must face them with courage and confidence to be successful.

Rev Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, the assistant Director, CODP gave away the prizes to the winners. Veteran sportsman Mr Michael Dsouza, the gold medal winner in masters athletics, and Mr Glanish Pinto of Udupi and Ms Trivia Veigas of Mangalore were felicitated for their achievement in badminton on the occasion.
