Bengaluru, March 13, 2025 : The School of Information Technology, St. Joseph's University, successfully hosted the International Conference on Current Trends in Information Technology (ICCTIT-2025) on March 10th and 11th 2025. This two-day event brought together researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to discuss the latest advancements in IT. The conference witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 150 scholars, who presented research papers on emerging technological trends.
The conference began with a prayer, a university anthem, and a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony attended by dignitaries. The inaugural session featured a welcome address by Dr. Annie Syrien, Convenor of the International Conference, who emphasized the importance of academic collaboration and knowledge exchange in shaping the future of IT. Dr. Ronald Mascarenhas, Acting Vice-Chancellor, emphasized the growing synergy between computer science and chemistry, highlighting how AI-driven simulations transform fields such as drug discovery and material sciences.
Ms. Regina Mathias, Pro-Vice Chancellor, underscored the importance of research-driven discussions in academia. At the same time, Chief Guest Mr. Thandava Popuri, Senior Director at Dell Technologies, delivered a keynote on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and industry trends. He elaborated on the impact of AI in healthcare, cybersecurity, and automation, encouraging young researchers to explore these transformative features. The inaugural session of the international conference was successfully concluded by Dr.B.G.Prasanthi .
The first day featured a keynote on "Current Trends in IT & AI in Healthcare," setting the stage for discussions on AI-driven innovations in medicine.
A technical session on Next generation trends on Cybersecurity led by Dr. K. Gopalakrishnan, Professor at LICET followed by research presentations on advancements in AI applications, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
On the second day, Dr. Ruban from St. Aloysius University, Mangalore, delivered a talk on "Advances in Healthcare Technology – Research and Reality Insights into AI," while Dr. Dileep Kumar, Vice chancellor, Hansard University, Nigeria spoke on "Industrial Revolution and Technology Advancements," focusing on AI, IoT and automation.
The conference concluded with a valedictory session featuring prominent speakers from academia and industry. Fr. Denzil Lobo, Dean ,School of Information technology emphasized the conference's academic and industrial significance, while Dr. Srinivas Katharguppe, Chief Guest, highlighted the role of research in shaping the future of IT. Mr. Terrence Andrade, Senior Production Operations at AMD, Santa Clara, USA, provided insights into emerging technologies in production and manufacturing. The event recognized outstanding research contributions with awards and certificates, celebrating innovations in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and IT advancements. ICCTIT-2025 served as a crucial platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and industry-academia collaboration, offering valuable insights into the future of technology. The university extended its gratitude to all speakers, participants, and sponsors for supporting the conference, a resounding success.
