Sixth Death Anniversary of Shri George Fernandes observed at Bejai

Mangaluru, Jan 31 : St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, Mangalore in association with the Catholic Sabha, Bejai Unit organised a prayer service in commemoration of the Sixth Death Anniversary of Shri George Fernandes, former Union Minister of India on Wednesday morning, 29th January, 2025 at St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai.

Holy Mass was celebrated in the church by Rev. Fr J. B. Saldanha along with Rev. Fr Peter Mascarenhas and Rev. Fr Norman Mathias.

After the Holy Mass, people gathered at his grave in the Bejai Cemetery to pay homage to him. Rev. Fr J. B. Saldanha led the prayer service. Mr Rohan Sequiera, President of Catholic Sabha, Bejai Unit and Mr Ashok Pinto, Vice President, Bejai Church Parish Pastoral Parishad were present.

Member of Parliament Mr Brijesh Chouta, MLA Mr Vedavyas Kamath, Ex Mayor and Corporator Mr Sudhir Shetty, Konkani Writer Mr Richard Moras and many others visited his tomb and prayed for his repose.
