Kirem, Oct 19 : The ICYM Kirem unit organized a vibrant event called "Khel-Mhel 2024" for the parishioners of Our Lady of Remedies church on Sunday, 8th October 2024, at the Pompei College ground. The event started at 8:30 AM with a prayer song led by the ICYM Kirem unit members. Several notable dignitaries graced the occasion, including: Rev. Fr. Oswald Montero, Parish Priest and Director; Fr. Alban, Assistant Priest; ICYM Diocese President Winston Joel Sequeira; Parish Council Vice President Rohan D'costa; Secretary James Lobo; All Commissions’ Coordinator Wilfred Monis; Youth Commission, Richard; Sr. Smitha and Sr. Diana; ICYM Animator Ms. Vinneta D'souza; and ICYM President Hanson Rodrigues, along with Secretary Denwin D'souza.

Zevita D’souza, ICYM's Sports and Cultural Representative, welcomed the gathered guests and Fr. Alban addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of unity among the parishioners and youth and build team spirit. The event was officially inaugurated by unveiling the trophies.

"Khel-Mhel" featured exciting games such as throwball for women, cricket for men, and tug-of-war for both men and women. The event was designed to foster unity, fun, and togetherness within the community, and it proved to be a tremendous success with enthusiastic participation from the parishioners.

The valedictory ceremony commenced at 5:30 PM, with ICYM member Gladwin announcing the winners. Prizes were distributed, and a special token of thanks was given to the umpire. ICYM Secretary Denwin D’souza delivered the vote of thanks, and Royston Dsouza concluded the event, inviting everyone for a group photo.

The day ended with a victory celebration, bringing joy, friendship, and unity to the community members.
