Mangaluru, Jan 29, 2025 : The Departments of Chemistry and Nutrition and Health Education of Agnes College (Autonomous) organized a two-day industrial visit to Mysore and Channapatna. A group of 35 students and 4 faculty members left on January 23rd for an enriching journey combining education and enjoyment.

Beginning with the Pyarana Car Museum, they explored vintage cars, historic equipment, and paintings. At CFTRI, they learned about food technology, including preservation, processing, and laboratory research. The visits to DFRL (DFBT) showcased innovative defence foods like ration packs and freeze-dried meals for soldiers in extreme conditions. The day ended with sightseeing at St. Philomena's Cathedral, Mysore’s local markets, and the Brindavan Gardens' enchanting water show.

The second day, they toured Sula Wines, learning about winemaking, and visited a Channapatna toy factory to witness wooden toy craftsmanship. The trip concluded with a thrilling safari at Bandipur National Park, offering a close encounter with nature.

The industrial visit to Mysore and Channapatna was an experience that combined education, exploration, and enjoyment. The visits to institutions like CFTRI and DFRL offered them practical insights into advanced food technology and defence research, broadening their understanding beyond classroom learning.

Exploring the Pyarana Museum, Sula Wines, and the Channapatna toy factory gave them a glimpse into history, craftsmanship, and innovation. The safari at Bandipur National Park and the sightseeing at Mysore added an element of fun and adventure, making the trip more memorable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that combined learning and enjoyment perfectly.
