Puttur , 29 Jan 2025 : The PG Department of Computer Applications of St Philomena College (Autonomous), in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, organized a technical session on "Exploring Innovations and Trends in Modern Web Technology."

The Principal Fr. Antony Prakash Monteiro presiding over the program stated, “We are experiencing the transformative power of technology in every sector. Gadgets and mobile applications have become an integral part of our lives. As students of Computer Applications, instead of merely using applications developed by others, you should learn how to create such applications. Artificial Intelligence has brought significant changes to every industry. Along with learning new technologies, it is equally important to develop human values.”

Arpit Raikar, Team Lead at The Web People, Puttur, remarked, “Computer Science or Computer Applications is a vast field. No one can learn everything. During the learning process, students are exposed to different fields, enabling them to choose one that aligns with their interests and acquire the necessary skills in that domain. This approach will set their career path and enhance job opportunities.” In his session, he explained various tools and technologies used in web development.

The session began with a prayer led by MCA students Niriksha and her team. Pooja N. welcomed. Shreya S. R. proposed vote of thanks. The event was compered by Chaitanya. The Dean and Head of the Computer Science Department, Prof. Vinayachandra, and IIC Coordinator, Geetha Poornima K., were gracefully present on the dais.
