Jeppu - Mangaluru, Sep 11 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) unit of St Joseph Church, Jeppu organized and celebrated Teachers' Day on 5th September 2024 at 7:00 PM at Mariya Jayanti Mandir, Jeppu, Mangalore.

The program commenced after the Holy Mass, beginning with a prayer song led by ICYM members. ICYM President Joel Alfred welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries on the dais included Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Maxim D'Souza, Infant Mary’s Convent Superior Sr. Silvia, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mrs. Marita D'Souza, ICYM Animators Mr. Michael D'Souza and Mrs. Shalet D'Souza, ICYM President Joel Alfred, and Secretary Reshma Penha.

Rev. Fr. Maxim D'Souza cut the cake on behalf of all the teachers, and tokens of love and remembrance gifts were given to all 40 teachers. Rev. Fr. Maxim D'Souza shared an uplifting message with the teachers and offered blessings for their careers.

Mrs. Dorathy shared her personal journey of becoming a teacher, highlighting the challenges, rewards, and passion that drive the profession.

ICYM members organized some spot games, and a special song of wishes was sung, followed by the distribution of prizes to the winners by the ICYM members.

After the program, ICYM Secretary Reshma delivered the vote of thanks, and Lavron Lobo served as the MC for the event.

The ceremony was followed by a delightful dinner, adding to the joyous atmosphere.
