Kelarai, Jan 16 : Celebrating 40 years of its existence, ICYM unit of St Anne Church, Kelarai organized Ruby Jubilee Cup – Cricket tournament for Men and Throwball tournament for Women on January 14 , 2024 .

The inauguration ceremony took place after the 7 a.m mass at 8:15 a.m . Fr. Prakash Lobo from St. Anne Friary Presided over the function in the absence of the Parish Priest Rev Fr. Joseph Mascarenhas. The other dignitaries present were Fr. Viniversal Dsouza , Mr. Santhosh D’Costa , the Vice President of Parish council, Mrs. Lucy Rodrigues, the coordinator of all the Ayog, Animators of ICYM Mr. Vinod Pereira and Mrs. Linet Crasta, Ms. Ashlin Dsouza , the Secretary of ICYM City Deanery , Ms. Arleen Dsouza , President of ICYM Kelarai and Mr. Joel Dsouza, The Sports Secretary of ICYM Kelarai.

The program began with invoking God’s blessings by a prayer song sung by the members of ICYM followed by Welcome speech by Ms. Arleen Dsouza, President of ICYM Kelarai. Ms. Lenisha Crasta , the secretary of ICYM Kelarai offered a floral welcome to the esteemed dignitaries. The inauguration was sportively carried out by the dignitaries by playing Cricket and Throwball .

The parishioners of Kelarai took active part in Cricket as well as Throwball and exhibited the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The valedictory ceremony took place at 5 p.m . The winners of the Ruby Jubilee Cup were announced and prizes were distributed for Man of the match and Women of the match. The program was concluded by vote of thanks given by Vice President of ICYM Kelarai Mr. Benoy Dsouza .
