Mangaluru, Jan 31 : The Department of MBA and MCA at St. Agnes College organized a grand Fresher’s Day event, titled Chrysalis 2K25, unfolding wings, embracing beginnings on 27th January 2025. The event was held at the Seminar Hall in the Mother Mary Alyosia Centenary Block, and it aimed to welcome and introduce the new students of the MBA and MCA departments to the college community. The programme began at 2:00 PM with an official welcome to the freshers, and the event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Sr. Dr. M. Vinora AC, the PG Coordinator, Mrs Shubharekha, the Registrar, Dr. Kavyashree, the Dean, Prof. Gerard D’Souza, the mentor and guide, and the Heads of the MBA and MCA Departments.

The formal session commenced with the host, Anvita, a second-year MCA student, welcoming all the guests and participants. The event began with a prayer song performed by Fabiann and her team, setting a serene and positive tone for the day. Following this, there was a vibrant welcome dance presented by Susha and her team, adding energy to the proceedings. The Vice Presidents of both departments escorted the dignitaries to the dais, and Reema, a second-year MBA student, delivered the welcome speech. In her speech, Reema conveyed warm greetings to the freshers, encouraging them to embrace the opportunities that lay ahead. The highlight of the formal programme was the address by Sr. Dr. M. Vinora AC, who offered her words of wisdom and advice to the students, emphasizing the importance of dedication and commitment in their academic journey. To conclude the formal session, Divya, a second-year MCA student, expressed her gratitude with the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The formal program wrapped up at 2:45 PM.

After a brief interval, the informal programme kicked off at 2:50 PM. The informal session was hosted by Venessa from 2nd MBA and Bhindya from 2nd MCA, who kept the energy high throughout. The freshers from both MBA and MCA departments showcased their talents in various performances, including music, dance, and other creative expressions. To add more fun and engagement, the senior students organized several interactive games for the juniors, promoting a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition. One of the major highlights of the informal session was the Mr. and Ms. Fresher contest, where the freshers were invited to walk the ramp with their seniors, display their talents, and answer questions posed by the judges. This activity was a fun and engaging way to celebrate the new batch of students. The winners of the Mr. and Ms. Fresher contest were announced as Durgesh and Athmika from the MBA department, and Tushan and Deepthi from the MCA department. The announcement of the winners added a sense of excitement and accomplishment to the event.

The day concluded with the closing ceremony at 6:00 PM, marking the end of a memorable Fresher’s Day celebration. The event, Chrysalis 2K25, successfully introduced the fresher’s to the vibrant culture of St. Agnes College, leaving the students with lasting memories of their first official event at the college. The combination of formal and informal activities created a perfect balance, making the day enjoyable, interactive, and welcoming for all the freshers. It was a day of celebration, interaction, and camaraderie that set the tone for the new academic journey ahead.
