NIddodi, Dec 11 , 2023 : On the vibrant morning of December 3rd, the ICYM unit of Little Flower Church, Niddodi came together to organize a spectacular Khelotsav for the parishioners. This event wasn't just about sports; it was a heartfelt initiative to strengthen bonds, foster love, and build a sense of togetherness among the parish members.

The ICYM president set the stage by extending a warm welcome to everyone, including notable guests like ICYM unit director Fr. Denis Suares, the ICYM Mangalore north deanery director Fr.Lancy Saldanha, parish council President Jecintha D'Souza, Secretary Jeevan Crasta, and Convenor John Cardoza. The event also saw the presence of ICYM animators Ronald D'Souza and Reshma Aranha, YCS animator Shaila Pinto, Fr Alwyn Pinto and Sister Sevrine.

ICYM Animator Ronald D'Souza graced the occasion with meaningful insights, emphasizing the significance of the day and sharing valuable thoughts with the audience. Recognition was also given to Leroy Pinto, an accomplished ICYM member, who received honors for his outstanding achievements in powerlifting, securing gold at the state level and bronze at the nationals.

Fr. Lancy Saldanha , the Director of ICYM Mangalore north deanery, delivered a heartfelt message on the importance of "Khelotsav" and its role in fostering unity. The event kicked off with a symbolic inauguration, where the guest of honor cut the ribbons tied to a ball and attached to the net, initiating a spirited game of volleyball. Additionally, Fr. Denis Suares, another distinguished guest, shared a few words, adding to the significance of the occasion.

The Khelotsav showcased a diverse range of games, appealing to participants of all ages, such as Tug of War, Lagori, Volleyball, Throwball, Bomb in the City, and many more , specially curated fun games for primary and high school kids that brought the entire parish community together. Notably, YCS Niddodi played a significant role by supporting ICYM in organizing these engaging activities for kids, contributing to the lively and competitive atmosphere.

In the afternoon session of Khelostav, they organized a delightful follow-up dance, where ICYM members showcased simple dance steps, inviting the entire audience to join in and dance along and then continued with remaining games, It was a joyous celebration of unity and movement.

As the day progressed, the event extended into the evening, culminating in the valedictory program. Fr. Denis Suares, the ICYM director, expressed gratitude for the hard work of ICYM members and the gathered community. During the valedictory program, ICYM acknowledged the vital contributions of sponsors, crucial to the event's success.

Animator Ronald D'Souza also shared a few words, adding a personal touch to the closing remarks. His insights and reflections provided a meaningful conclusion to the day's events, adding an extra element of excitement and fun to the festivities Additionally, a rooster ticket draw was conducted during the valedictory program, and the winner was presented with the rooster.

The valedictory program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks presented by the ex-ICYM president, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors. Notably, ICYM ensured the well-being of all attendees by providing breakfast and lunch, adding to the overall warmth and success of the day.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, unity, and community, ICYM Niddodi's Khelotsav marked a memorable day of celebration and togetherness, leaving a lasting impact on all those who attended.
