Vorkady, Sep 7 : Over a thousand Catholic  Children , Youth  and  adults of Sacred Heart parish, Vorkady marched on 03rd September 2023 on the road about half a kilometre distance to a place called a Bakery Junction.
   
Commission for Family, Commission  for  Youth, Commission  for Education, Commission for Health, Commission for Social Communication, Members of I.C.Y.M , Catholic Sabha and members of Parish Pastoral Council were also  on the forefront. 

Sr. Anna Maria B.S, an experienced  social worker from Shubada social work centre  gave a very enlightening message while addressing  the gathering,  about  the  drug  menace. Very meaningful posters were presented  by the  children and youth. A poster competition was held for children and youth under the leadership of Ursuline Sisters.The same posters were used in the rally. Before the rally , meaningful liturgy and prayers were held in the church where all the parishioners took part.

The Parish priest Rev. Fr. Basil Vas presided over the programme and insisted that the drug menace has to be stopped and save our life and mankind  by keeping the drugs away .

Co-ordinator of 21 commissions  Mrs. Anitha D Souza led  the programme. Mrs. Shobha D Souza welcomed the gathering and Mr. Jaya Prakash D Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Rajesh DSouza the Vice president of PPC, Mrs Sandhya D Souza, secretary of PPC, Sr Monthin Gomes, Br. Joyel  Monteiro and, Sr.Telma, the superiors of the convents here were also present.
