Omzoor, Sep 3 : Thirty Day Long Anti-Drug Month Campaign was launched at Holy Family church, Omzoor on 3rd September , 2023. This campaign aims at raising awareness about the dangerous substance addiction and is an effort to combat the use of these harmful substances.

A canister resembling ‘Our Life’ was symbolically filled with the harmful substances such as drugs and alcohol showcasing the toxicity and health hazard these substances can cause. Fr Alwyn Dcunha, parish priest along with vice president of PPC, Arther Dsouza; Secretary of PPC, Dafny Lewis; Coordinator of all parish commissions, Elroy Saldanha; Br Rajath then symbolically inaugurated the initiative by filling the canister with pure substance that incinerated the toxicity created by the harmful substances into the clear water resembling purity and freedom.

Fr Alwyn Dcunha emphasized the urgency and need to address the drug menace in the society. He stressed on the need to educate children, youths and parents about these hazardous drugs. He also stated that we together through this anti-drug campaign can make a difference in society.

To mark the ‘Anti-Drug Month’ various banners were displayed around the church premises. Education lessons on drug abuses and consequences will be taught to children during Sunday catechism classes and also in the educational institutions. Parish commissions will organize various competitions such as slogan contests, short films, social media reels for all the parishioners. Awareness events such as walkathons and street play will be hosted in the parish.
