Mangaluru, Aug 2 : The visit of the Provincial Superior of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation of of Karnataka province, Sr. Maria Shamitha A.C., to Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School Kotekar on August 1, 2023, was a special and memorable event. The day began with a prayerful atmosphere, invoking a sense of spirituality and unity among the students. A prayer service was held to seek God's blessings.
The school principal, Sr. Jacintha D'sa, warmly welcomed Sr. Maria Shamitha A.C., and the students presented a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation and honor for her presence. The students showcased their talent and dedication through a creative welcome skit, impressing the audience.
The lower primary students entertained everyone with their action songs, while the secondary students delivered a meaningful skit titled "We Need Tuners for Our Life," conveying a powerful message. Sr. Maria Shamitha A.C., the Provincial Superior, addressed the gathering and delivered a motivational message to the students. She encouraged them to make good friends in life and shared a related story to emphasize her point. She also asked the children for their thoughts on how to be happy in life and explained the answer. Additionally, she narrated a story about a kite, metaphorically conveying the challenges of reaching new heights and the importance of perseverance. Her inspiring words motivated the children to strive for success.
At the end of the program, Sr. Maria Shamitha A.C. awarded prizes to the winners of the karate competitions. The emcees for the lower primary, Himani Y Kulal from Grade IV, and for the higher primary and high school program, Anusha from Grade X and Bhuvi Devadiga from Grade VII B, did a commendable job. The teachers, Mrs Chaithra and Mrs Shalet, expressed their gratitude to the audience.
Later in the day, at 3:30 p.m., the entire staff of Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School Kotekar gathered in the hall to welcome and listen to the Provincial Superior. The meeting commenced with a lovely and lyrical prayer song sung by the teachers. Sr. Shamitha A.C. addressed the teachers, emphasizing the importance of being effective educators. She encouraged them to have a genuine love for their subjects and build strong connections with their students. She also emphasized the need for continuous self-improvement and skill updating, as it contributes to the development of both the students and the school. The meeting was hosted by Ms Flavitha, and Ms Sowjanya expressed words of gratitude.
