Easter Celebration at Infant Mary Parish, Bajjodi

Mangaluru, April 10 : The Easter Celebration here at Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi commenced at 7pm on April 8 with the blessing of the new fire by Fr. Ivan D’souza. Fr. Ashwath Dsouza was the main Celebrant. The Easter Candle was lit and carried to the Altar calling on people to walk in the light of the Risen Christ. The congregation lit candles signifying the victory of light over darkness. Fr. Ashwath Dsouza sang the Exultes - the Easter Hymn. Five readings from the Sacred Scriptures gave a glimpse of the salvation story of Israel and mankind in general. As Gloria resounded in the air, the image of Risen Jesus was unveiled.

Fr. Ashwath Dsouza in his Homily gave a message of Christ's Love that He showed Maundy Thursday, His Sacrifice and Forgiveness that He showed on Good Friday and the Grace of God which Jesus Christ bestows on us on Easter Sunday that will help us follow His path of Love and Forgiveness. Parishioners participated faithfully in the solemn ceremony and celebration. Later water was blessed and Baptismal Vows were renewed. The liturgy was well-organized. The Faithful who had gathered in great numbers wished each other after the mass and with the peace of Risen Christ returned home.
