Mangaluru, March 10 : Ms.Reshel Bretny Fernandes, a young author and orator having accomplishments at the International, national and other levels in literary field and being awarded with awards at various levels was honoured with prestigious Kittur Rani Chennamma award by the Government of Karnataka on the occasion of International women's day celebrations at Ravindra Kala Bhavana Bengaluru on March 8 2025.
She was felicitated by the guest of honour Smt. Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Hon. Minister for women and child welfare Govt of Karnataka, Dr. Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, Chairman state women commission and other honoured dignitaries.

Ms.Reshel is the sole woman /girl from Dakshina Kannada to be the recipient of the award.
Ms. Reshel hails from Surathkal and is the daughter of teachers Mr. Ronald and Mrs. Nancy Fernandes. She's currently pursuing LLB at SDM law college Mangalore.
She was the almuna of DPS MRPL , Ladyhill Victoria PU college and Sri Mahaveera College Moodbidri.
