Mangaluru, Feb 10 : The department of clinical Psychology, St. Agnes centre for post graduate studies and research (Autonomous) organized a workshop on ‘Counselling process’ on 7 February 2025 for the Clinical Psychology students.
Mrs. Jennifer Carlo, Assistant Professor, Yenapoya deemed to be university, Mudippi, Mangaluru was the Resource Person. She spoke about essential skills in counselling, emphasizing the importance of effective communication, active listening, and empathy. She also discussed different models of counselling, highlighting various theoretical approaches used in practice. Ethical guidelines were addressed, stressing the need for confidentiality, professional boundaries, and adherence to ethical standards. Additionally, she covered behavioural analysis, explaining how understanding behaviour patterns can aid in effective interventions. Lastly, she provided practical training in counselling skills, allowing participants to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
