Mangaluru, Dec 30 : Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka (KBMK), in association with St. Aloysius Deemed to be University(SAU), is organizing a one-day Student Literary Conference on January 4, 2025 commemorating its foundation day. Students from Karnataka and Goa, with Konkani as their mother tongue, are participating, and over a thousand Konkani students have registered for the event.

The invitation for this conference was released by Rev. Dr. Praveen Martis SJ, Vice Chancellor of St. Aloysius College.

Vasant Bhagwant Sawant, President of the Goa Konkani Academy, will be the chief guest, while Parag Nagarsekar, the General Secretary, will also attend. Other dignitaries present include Dr. Ronald Nazareth, Registrar of St. Aloysius Deemed to be University, Prashant Shet, Owner of S.L. Shet Jewelry, Hampankatta, and Sudhakar Kotari, General Manager of Canara Bank Circle Offices.

During the valedictory ceremony, Rev. Fr. Melwyn D'Cunha, Pro-Vice Chancellor, will preside, and the valedictory speech will be delivered by Dr. Alwyn D'Souza, Registrar of St. Aloysius College(Autonomous). In addition, a special honor will be given to Fr. Prashant Madtha, who initiated the Konkani department at the college 30 years ago.

The President of KBMK, K. Vasant Rao, and General Secretary Raymond D'Cunha Taccode will be present at the event.

The event is being coordinated by K. Vasant Rao, President of KBMK, along with the Konkani department of St. Aloysius College. The event's coordinators include Raymond D'Cunha, Secretary of KBMK, who will welcome the guests, and Flora Castelinno, Head of the Konkani Department, who will give the vote of thanks. The coordinator Dr Severin Pinto conducted the programme. Michelle Anisha Fernandes Cultural Secretary, Konkani Sangha Janita Rego, Registration Committee Denita D'Cunha, Prayer Incharge Sejal Prema Alvarez, Escort Committee Franklin Kristen Castellino and students of Konkani Sangha were present.
