Mangaluru, Nov 26 , 2024 : Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru celebrated the 75th Constitution Day, commemorating the adoption of the Indian Constitution on November 26, 1949. The programme hosted by the students of grade VI A and B in the school auditorium, brought together students and faculty, fostering a spirit of national pride and reflection.

The celebration commenced with a solemn prayer session, emphasizing the shared responsibility of every citizen in upholding the values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. An energetic welcome dance followed, symbolizing the unity and diversity of the nation. The chief guest Tr Jyotsna R.M, the co-ordinator of the middle school was warmly welcomed by a flower sapling.

The highlight of the ceremony was the garlanding of the portrait of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of Indian Constitution by the dignitaries. This tribute resonated deeply, reflecting the profound respect for his visionary leadership. The significance of the day was eloquently conveyed by Maanvi M.B. and Tisha Balipa, who delved into the Constitution's role in shaping a just and equitable nation. Their insightful words underscored the relevance of the Constitution as a living document guiding the country's progress. Dharmik of grade VIII read the Preamble which was repeated by all the students, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of our Constitution.

A stirring dance drama vividly portrayed the struggles and achievements that paved the way for India's independence and the drafting of its Constitution. This was followed by a vibrant dance performance, celebrating the nation’s journey post-independence and inspiring optimism for the future. A patriotic song, "Hum Hindustani," brought the celebration to a close, uniting the audience in a powerful expression of national pride.

Chief Guest Tr Jyotsna in her address, highlighted the importance of the Constitution as a guiding framework for the nation. Using an evocative analogy, she emphasized the need for every citizen to respect and uphold its principles.

Angela D'Almeida welcomed the gathering and Chris Pinto delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. Dharmik of grade VIII read the Preamble which was repeated by all the students and staff, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of our Constitution.

The emcees, Atharv, Jasmita, Samyukta and Rishon gracefully guided the proceedings, ensuring the event’s seamless flow.

Thus, the Constitution Day celebration at Mount Carmel Central School was a poignant reminder of the values that underpin Indian democracy with a call to action for everyone to uphold and cherish the fundamental principles of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
