Udupi, Feb 3 : A bittersweet wave of nostalgia and excitement filled the air on February 1, 2025, as St. Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE) bid farewell to its first batch of Grade 10 students. Hosted by students of Grade 9, the farewell programme was a cherishing tribute to the graduating class, celebrating their journey, achievements, and the countless memories etched within the portals of the school walls.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn prayer service, seeking divine blessings for the outgoing Cecilians as they embark on a new chapter of their lives. This was beautifully complemented by a soul-stirring prayer dance, symbolizing gratitude, hope, and faith.
The ceremonial lamp kindled by the Principal, Sr Lathika, Vice Principal, Sr Lavi Shanthi, Tr Nisha, and representatives of grade 10 Kavana and Rahul was a symbolic illumination representing wisdom, enlightenment and bright future.

The warmth of the occasion was amplified by Muskaan’s eloquent welcome speech, setting a perfect tone for the day. A thought-provoking skit titled “Grades Are Just a Chapter… Not the Whole Story” delivered a powerful message—success is not confined to marks and ranks, but rather, it is a journey of learning, resilience, and self-discovery.

Adding vibrancy to the celebration, an energetic dance performance to the song “All is Well” uplifted the spirits of all present. The rhythmic beats and the lively moves echoed the sentiment that no matter what life brings, optimism and determination will pave the way forward.

A farewell is incomplete without a trip down memory lane. Bradley Denver Vaz took center stage to share his nostalgic moments, reminiscing about the friendships, lessons, and laughter that defined his school days. The Head Girl, Vanshika Kotian, extended her best wishes, encouraging her seniors to embrace the future with confidence and perseverance.

One of the most touching moments of the day was the screening of a specially curated video, recreating the beautiful memories of the graduating class. As familiar faces and unforgettable moments flashed across the screen, emotions ran high- smiles and teary eyes, reminding everyone that while this chapter was ending, the bonds formed would last a lifetime.

As a gesture of love and appreciation, the students of Grade 9 presented farewell gifts to their seniors, as a symbol of their admiration, gratitude, and well wishes. The Principal’s address was filled with wisdom and encouragement, urging the students to carry forward the Cecilian values instilled by the school and to live by the school’s motto ‘ Let My Life Be a Song of Praise’.

With hearts brimming with gratitude, Sejal Aneesha Kotian delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all who contributed to making the farewell a memorable occasion.

Though this farewell marked the end of one journey, it also signified the beginning of another. As the pioneers of Grade 10 step out into the world, they carry with them not just knowledge but also the love, friendships, memories and confident ambitions that will forever remain cherished echoes of their time at St. Cecily’s.

Best wishes to the pioneers of Grade 10 – may you soar high and achieve greatness!
