Mangaluru: Sep 20 : Onam celebration was held at St Raymond’s College Vamanjoor on September 13th 2024.

The joyous occasion saw the entire campus unite to welcome King Mahabali and mark the season of abundance and prosperity.

The program began on a symbolic note by Sr Jesintha Crasta the principal of the college. In her address she said Onam is not just a festival. It is a celebration of unity, prosperity and the cultural heritage of Kerala. It reminds us of the golden reign of King Mahabali , where equality , joy and harmony prevailed, inspiring us to uphold these values in our own lives. This festival brings people of all communities and it is a time to reflect on the values of love, kindness and generosity.

A highlight of the event was the meticulously designed Pookkalam, a traditional floral arrangement that drew admiration from all attendees. In keeping with the cultural richness of the occasion, the college students performed the traditional Thiruvathirakkali and other cultural events were held. To mark this event various games were held by the student cabinet members.
