Vamanjoor, Nov 16 : Kannada Rajyotsava is celebrated every year on November 1, since 1956 with great pomp in our state Karnataka. Kannadigas celebrate this day as the Karnataka State Formation Day. With the spirit of Unity, 'NUDI HABBA' a Kannada Cultural event was celebrated at St. Raymond's P U College, Vamanjoor on 15 November, 2023 with great vigor and enthusiasm.

Rev. Sr. Shubha B.S, Coordinator for Educational Apostolate, Mangalore Province and Correspondent, St. Raymond's P U College, Mr. Yashu Kumar, Guest Lecturer, Mangalore University were the esteemed guests of the day.

The programme commenced with a prayer song sung by the student. The Chief Guest inaugurated the program by unfurling the Poster of 'Kannada Mathe'.

Students melodiously sung a series of songs composed by various Kannada poets. The amazing facts about Karnataka and the significance of the day was highlighted by Ms. Shanika and Master Ravi Kumar, students of second commerce which added to the knowledge of the audience.

Mr. Yashu Kumar, Chief Guest of the day urged the students to respect each religion with much reverence as it is the need of the hour. Rev. Sr. Shubha BS, Correspondent of the college presided over the function. In her presidential address, she called upon the students to love and respect their mother tongue, learn it's perfection and not to forget their Mother Language in their Life.

The students spread the fragrance of Kannada Language with their spectacular dance performance like Kamsale, Kangilu, Dollu Kunitha, Coorg Dance, Tiger Dance Veeragase which left the audience spellbound . Sr. Anita Lydia BS, Principal, St. Raymond's P U College, Ms. Radha, Lecturer in Kannada were present on the dais. The event generated a sense of pride in the minds of students for being a part of a culture that is so rich and vibrant.

Ms. Radha, Lecturer in Kannada welcomed the gathering. Master Pratham and Ms.Trisha students of second science compered the program beautifully. The ceremony ended with the Kannada anthem.
