Mangaluru, Sep 29 : “Remember, nothing is small in the eyes of God. Do all that you do with love” – St. Therese of Lisieux.
St. Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangaluru, celebrated the feast of their Patroness St. Therese of Lisieux on September 29th, 2023. A Novena was prayed for 9 days praying for grace of protection. The festive mass was celebrated on September 29th by Fr. Sujay Daniel SJ in St. Sebastian's Church, Bendur. The priest gave a wonderful sermon on the simple and decent life that St. Therese lived and how everyone can emulate her virtues. The students brought offerings such as rusk and biscuits which were later distributed to patients in various hospitals.
A special assembly was conducted by the students of Class VI. A heartfelt prayer session honoring St. Therese's life preceded the celebration. A spellbinding welcome dance was performed to welcome the gathering. The students presented a value-based dance drama that emphasized the significance of the values learned from St. Therese's life and how the current generation incorporates these values into their lives. They also performed a beautiful entertainment dance.
Sr. Lourdes, the Principal of St. Theresa’s School, in her address, encouraged the students to imbibe the qualities of St. Theresa of Lisieux. She also emphasized how a student can be a beacon of light by following the virtues of St. Therese. The Principal Sr. Lourdes BS wished the gathering a joyous occasion and shared her admiration for the patroness. The School anthem brought the festivities to a close.
