Mangaluru, Sep 1 : Team sceptix of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor has secured the 2nd Position in NivHack hackathon, held by Niveus Solutions on the 27 August 2023 and won a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The team built an innovative mobile application MEDSYNC that leveraged the use of AI technology to store, manage, and retrieve medical records of users. The team comprised second semester students Nihaal Y K, Rachan Karkera, Muhammed Saheed, and Sai Vardhan G.

NivHack 2023 was a 24-hour long hackathon hosted by Niveus Solutions, Mangalore to bring together young minds and craft cloud-based solutions for problems in the domain of Healthcare, Banking, and Logistics. The event encouraged the use of modern-day AI technologies provided by Google Cloud in partnership with Niveus. 25 teams from colleges in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi participated in the event.

MEDSYNC is a mobile application that automates data entry, organises records, and enables secure NFC exchanges. It includes an AI chatbot that provides personalised insights by employing image classification and AI-driven telemedicine. MEDSYNC enables secure and involuntary exchange of patient records over the Near-field communication (NFC) protocol in the case of an emergency. The application was built using Flutter, Flutter Flow, and Google Cloud Vertex AI.
