Mangaluru, March 26, 2023 : “Kreestacha Otmea” A Konkani Devotional Hymn was released by the Blue Angels Choir, Mangalore today at 11 AM on Blue Angels Choir YouTube Channel.
A popular Traditional hymn 'Abide with me' was composed by William Henry Monk in the year 1861. This Hymn was later translated into Konkani by Late Rev. Fr Walter Albuquerque SJ popularly known as "Kreestacha Otmea". Blue Angels Choir, Mangalore have put in a lot of efforts along with many others to make this release a grand success.
The Choir headed by Denzil Pereira includes Hansel Rego, Dheeraj Lobo, Dealle Dsouza, Ashel Dsouza, Hayden Sequeira, Simone Monteiro, Verna Dsouza, Irel Rego. The music has been produced by Russel Rodrigues. Mixing and Mastering has been done by Srikanth Srinivas Chennai at Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd. The vocals have been recorded by Melroy Furtado at Melodium, the SJEC Studio, Vamanjoor. DOP is done by Rahul Pinto and Cliyon Dsouza. Editing and color grading is done at Carmel Kiran Media, Carmel Hill, Mangaluru by Cliyon Dsouza. Video has been shot at St Joseph Engineering College Campus, Vamanjoor and at Holy Hill, Mangaluru. Posters and YouTube thumbnail have been designed by Ashish Joseph Carvalho, Derebail at Gratia Graphic Design.
About BAC:
Blue Angels Choir came into existence on 1st January 2014. Initially it was called PADUA BLUE ANGELS as most of the singers in the group were from Padua Institutions. The main intention to start this group was to sing in church for various occasions. Later on as years passed by they began to give Public Performances, perform for Music Concerts of various Konkani Singers and perform as Micro bands for the Receptions, Private Gigs & Corporate Events, also leading Taize worship.
Fr Michael Santhumayor is the mentor and Denzil Pereira is the co-ordinator of this group. This group sings in 4 voices, (i.e, Soprano, Tenor, Alto & Bass) which makes this group a Unique and One of its kind. BAC has sung for more than 230 choirs, and has given TV and radio programmes. They have done more than 20 musical experiments till date and it’s the first group to come up with Konkani Medley. Till now they have released 11 covers on YouTube.
