Kuwait, Dec 15 : As we step into the month of December, everyone gets into the festive mood automatically. Young and old along with the little one’s welcome the special season where everyone sways to the melodies of Christmas Carols with all preparations to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Christmas is special to everyone where Peace, Love & Joy fill the air and everyone tries to live the Christmas message in their lives.
Christmas Goodies were distributed to KCWA members’ kids in an event held on 13th December 2024 at Indian Community School, Senior branch, Salmiya. The event began with an opening prayer hymn by Angelic Voiceskids’ group from Khaitan, trained by Raina Dmello who is also the composer of this hymn.
KCWA President Naveen Mascarenhas welcomed the gathering with a Christmas message followed by Dance performance from Sparkling Stars dance group kids. The dance was choreographed by Rita Pinto. The crowd enjoyed the melodious Christmas Carols by Infant Jesus kids Konkani choir, Salmiya trained by Aaron Dsouza, Allen Pinto and Rinna Dsouza.
A beautiful Christmas message, the birth of Jesus in a manger, choir of angels singing and glorifying God, terrified and excited shepherds dancing out of joy, the star of the East moving and stopping over the stable and the 3 kings following the star to worship Jesus was showcased in the form of a Tableau by St. Daniel Comboni Konkani choir kids, Abbasiya led by Lavina Furtado, Savitha Tauro, Crystal and Arvin Rodrigues.
President Naveen Mascarenhas, Vice President Arun Jossy Dsouza and General secretary Reena Pereiraescorted KCWA Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. Avil Rosario to the stage to deliver the Christmas message to the gathering. After a few interactive questions with kids about Christmas, he emphasized that Jesus is the reason to be joyful. He asked everyone to share the love that God has shown by sending his only son to the world and extended Christmas wishes to the KCWA community.
To encourage KCWA’s membership, Membership Affairs Coordinator Sylvia D Costa conducted a membership draw. The draw was held for all active members of 2025 including Honorary, Patron and Life members. Mr. Roni D Sa, membership #2556 emerged as a Lucky winner.
Christmas Hampers sale gave an opportunity for everyone to be part of the Christmas Joy, where they shared their love and support towards KCWA’s mission. Highest Sale of Hampers was by Prakash Gonsalves, Arun Jossy Dsouza and Veena Serrao who were awarded as an appreciation for their efforts. Hamper's draw was led and coordinated by Harry Fernandes, Praveen Fernandes, Prakash Pinto, Kevin Dsouza along with. Rev. Fr. Avil Rosario, President Naveen Mascarenhas, Past Presidents Anil Fernandes, Stevan Rego and Maria Rinna D Souza on the stage.

The event was beautifully compered by MaiBhas Konkani class kids Gloria Tauro and Sharvin Dsouza who also engaged the crowd with their lively performance. Emcee Harry Fernandes also engaged the crowd with spot games for kids and housie game for everyone present at the venue.
The kids were all excited to see their loving Santa entering the hall with candies in his bag and followed him to receive specially packed goodies with loads of excitements.Christmas Goodies were distributed to all kids present at the venue. KCWA Managing committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the sponsors of the event and goodies.
The event coordinator Prakash Gonsalves proposed the vote of thanks and extended gratitude to goodies sponsors - Balaji Snacks, KITCOGeneral Trading, Mr. Dencil Moniz from Al Seedawi for Food Industries, Mr. Clifford Dsouza, KGL,Mr. Blaze Crasta,Mr. Praveen Menezes for sponsoring one consolation prize, Mr. Stevan Rego-Pheonix Confectionary for snacks and the Managing committee members. KCWA whole-heartedly would like to thank all our sponsors and well-wishers for supporting this event with their generous contribution.
Sincere thanks to Mr. Alban Dsouza capturing the whole event with his skills in photography, Roshan Rodrigues for providing the sound systems with foot tapping music, Allan Dsouza for media updates, Flavors Confectionary for serving delicious snacks and juices and the Support committee for their selfless service to ensure the program runs smoothly.Special thanks to the management of the Indian Community School, Senior Branch, Block-10 Salmiya, for graciously providing the venue.
The entire event was successfully coordinated by Harry Fernandes, Prakash Gonsalves, Veena Serrao, Arun Jossy Dsouza, Prakash Pinto, Praveen Fernandes and well supported by the rest of the Managing Committee.
The event concluded at 9:00 pm, with the crowd returning happily with the joy and fellowship of Christmas.
