Mangaluru, Dec 28 : The Christmas celebration at St. Agnes College (Autonomous) on 21st and 23rd December 2024 was a heartwarming and vibrant events that brought together the Management, UG and PG students, staff, faculty members of degree and Centre for Post Graduate Studies & Research in a joyous and festive atmosphere. The program was a perfect blend of devotion, fun, and gratitude, capturing the true spirit of the season.

The events were graced by esteemed guests, including Sr. Dr. M. Venissa A.C., Principal, Sr Dr Roopa Rodrigues, Sr. Dr. M. Vinora A.C., the PG Coordinator, Sr Carmel Rita A.C., Administrator, faculty members, teaching and non teaching staff and UG & PG students.

Sr. Dr. M. Venissa A.C., Principal of the college, delivered an inspiring Christmas message, highlighting the importance of love, compassion, and togetherness. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, reminding them of the values that underpin the essence of Christmas. She emphasized that the world is one community and it is the salvation of mankind which brings in the true spirit of Christmas.

On the joyous occasion of Christmas, the Spirituality Committee, in association with the Student Council organized a series of exciting competitions to celebrate the festive spirit. These events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various streams, making the celebrations memorable.

Greeting Card, Christmas Star, Wreath Making, Winter Wonderland Sing-Off, Crib Making competitions were held which was a grand success, reflecting the collaborative efforts of the Spirituality Committee and the Student Council in spreading Christmas cheer. The active participation and creativity of the students brought festive joy and highlighted the true spirit of Christmas.

The much-anticipated prize distribution ceremony recognized and celebrated the winners of various Christmas competitions held during the season, showcasing the creativity and talent of the participants. Following this, the Student Council honored the non-teaching staff by presenting each of them with a gift as a token of gratitude for their tireless service to the students and the college. This gesture added a heartfelt touch to the celebration, emphasizing the community’s appreciation for their invaluable contributions.

The event commenced with a melodious prayer song that set a soulful, serene and spiritual tone, invoking blessings and fostering a sense of unity among the students, management and staff. An insightful introduction to the significance of Christmas was provided by the students.

The festive spirit continued with students performing carols, filling the venue with harmonious melodies and spreading joy. The celebration culminated with a beautifully enacted tableau, which brought the nativity story to life. The intricate portrayal and heartfelt performances captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impression of the significance of the birth of Christ.

The PG & UG Student Council Presidents played a pivotal role in the program. A heartfelt vote of thanks was proposed, expressing gratitude to the Principal, PG Coordinator, HODs of all departments, faculty members, and everyone present.

The entry of Santa Claus set a joyous tone for the celebrations. Various exciting games were organized for students and faculty members by various departments. A vibrant dance performance by students and teachers further elevated the Christmas spirit and enhanced the festive fervor. This was followed by lively spot games, which added an element of excitement and cheer to the celebration as participants engaged enthusiastically in the fun-filled activities.

The Christmas celebration concluded on a joyous note, leaving everyone with smiles, laughter, and a renewed spirit of togetherness. It was a memorable occasion that not only celebrated the festive season but also strengthened the bonds within the college community.
