Mangaluru, Dec 24, 2024 : St Agnes PU College celebrated its Christmas programme “Festive Echoes” on 23 December. The resplendent hues of the season were visible on the occasion, which was held in the auditorium and was imbued with great joy and happiness. A charming tableau where God partnered with Mary to save the world from sin by sending Jesus into this world was the focal point. The tableau showcased how, in this millennium, God wants to partner with the youth to save a world that’s torn asunder by war, anarchy, and chaos by bringing hope, joy, and peace into our hearts through our acts of kindness, love, and mercy for our fellow beings.
The chief guest, Mrs. Philomena Lobo, former DDPI, DK district, delivered a profound message on the spirit of Christmas and its significance. Christmas is not just about gifts; it is a season of hope, joy, and inspiration for all, reminded the chief guest. Youth, with their boundless energy and creativity, have the potential to make a remarkable difference in the world. This festive season provides an opportunity for reflection—to look within, renew our spirits, and recommit to our goals and values.
The Charity Drive served as the highlight of the occasion and students wholeheartedly contributed their mite, enhancing the philanthropic spirit and encouraging social sensitivity.
The Agno Christmas Carnival was organized to spread the hope and joy associated with the spirit of Christmas. The Carnival offered an enchanting atmosphere filled with irrepressible vivacity and gaiety. Enthusiastic participants explored various stalls that offered intricate mehendi designs, delightful baked goodies, a photo booth, and charming Christmas décor.
The event buzzed with energy as competitions like Christmas wreath-making and ornament-making for Christmas trees engaged the creative talents of the participants. Adding to the bonhomie were the games at different counters that brought a playful element into the day and attracted everyone.
The carnival was a smorgasbord of entertainment, creativity, and community spirit, leaving behind cherished memories. The conveners, Mrs. Lovina Aranha, Lecturer in Commerce; Mrs. Anitha Shenoy, Lecturer in Hindi; and Mrs. Ancilla, Lecturer in Statistics, ensured the success of the carnival through their dedicated efforts.
The emcee for the Christmas programme, Asta D’Souza, orchestrated the event smoothly, Roopashree extended a warm welcome, and Janice expressed gratitude on behalf of everyone gathered. Sr. Sannidhi, Lecturer in English; Mrs. Jyothi, Lecturer in Economics; Ms. Venissa, Lecturer in Chemistry; and Ms. Blessy, Lecturer in Mathematics served as the coordinators and ensured the success of the Christmas programme with their meticulous planning and practice.
