Mangaluru, Nov 18 : The Father Muller Homoeopathic Pharmaceutical Division (FMHPD), a unit of the esteemed Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), commemorated 20 years since its relocation to Paneer, Deralakatte, with a grand vicennial celebration on November 16, 2024. The event was held at the Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Auditorium, Deralakatte, at 10 a.m.

A Journey of Growth and Excellence

Founded in 1880 by Rev. Fr Augustus Muller, S.J., as the "Homoeopathic Poor Dispensary" in Kankanady, FMHPD has grown to be a global leader in homoeopathic medicine production. Its relocation to Deralakatte in 2004 marked a new era of enhanced productivity, advanced infrastructure, and expanded reach. Today, FMHPD stands as a testament to the legacy of excellence in medicine production, supporting rural health initiatives and maintaining stringent GMP standards.

The event was graced by several distinguished personalities:
- Chief Guest: Prof. Dr. Pravas Kumar Pal, Medical Superintendent, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Hyderabad
- Guest of Honour: Prof. Dr. Herald Roshan Pinto, Principal, Alva's Homoeopathic Medical College
- President: His Lordship Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese and President of FMCI

Other dignitaries included Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho (Director, FMCI), Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo (Designate Director, FMCI & Administrator FMHMC&H/FMCOPS), Rev. Fr. Nelson Dheeraj Pais (Administrator, FMHPD), Rev. Fr Ashwin Lawrence Crasta (Asst. Administrator, FMHPD) and Mr. Ratan Kumar (Production Manager, FMHPD).

The celebration began with a prayer dance by FMHMC students, followed by the dignitaries being led to the stage by Rev. Fr. Nelson Dheeraj Pais, followed by the lamp lighting ceremony symbolizing the event's significance and success.
Mrs. Claudia Pinto chronicled FMHPD's journey and accomplishments, emphasizing its dedication to quality, affordability, and outreach.
Guest of Honour Dr H Roshan Pinto released the Commemorative Bulletin titled "Father Muller's Homoeo Heritage", the bulletin highlighted milestones and cherished memories from the past two decades, after which Cake Cutting Ceremony took place marking the joyous occasion.

FMCI Director Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho recognized staff members who had served for 20 years, appreciating their unwavering dedication, after which Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho in his address reminisced about the vision of late Fr. Baptist Menezes - who planned and Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro - who executed the relocation of HPD. He emphasized the critical role of HPD in FMCI's success, describing it as the "breadwinner" of the institution due to its global outreach. He acknowledged the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and congratulated Rev. Fr. Nelson Dheeraj Pais for his ambitious plans to expand marketing efforts across India.

Chief guest Dr. Pravas Kumar Pal distributed the prizes to the winners of various events held at HPD, namely;
1. Bulletin Contest:
a. Cover page design: Mrs Geetha Dsouza FMHPD
b. Digital Art Contest:
i. 1st place – Ms Anu S Ram, II BHMS
ii. 2nd place – Ms Disha C, II BHMS
2. Sports Day:
a. Champions: HPD Strikers; 1st place – HPD Kings; 2nd place – HPD Stars; 3rd place – HPD Challengers;
b. Mr Joel & Mrs Claudia felicitated for conducting the sports day activities.
Followed by his address where he praised FMHPD's commitment to quality and cost-effective homoeopathic remedies. Recalling his association with the institution, he acknowledged its transformation into a globally recognized brand. He highlighted the potential for FMHPD to expand its reach in rural India and diversify its product line, including cosmetics and professional courses in homoeopathy.

His Lordship Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha honoured Former Administrators and Asst. Administrators of FMHPD and launched FMHPD's latest product, Zero Pain Spray, a testament to the division's innovative spirit. In his presidential address he spoke about the importance of promoting immunity in children through homoeopathy and the institution's legacy of creating affordable, effective remedies. Drawing from biblical references, he emphasized holistic healing and praised the dedication of FMHPD staff and management and encouraged all gathered to popularise usage of homoeopathic medicaments whilst testifying about the holistic healing it brings.

Event commenced with token of appreciation handed over to dignitaries present by Fr Nelson Administrator FMHPD, after which Director FMCI honoured the Administrator FMHPD for meticulously planning and organising this event;
Ms. Renita Crasta extended gratitude to all contributors, including past and present management, doctors, dealers, vendors, and event organizers. She praised the cultural team, sound engineers, caterers, photographers, media teams, with special acknowledgment to all the HPD staff; Thanking Dr. Deepa & Dr. Jolly for coordinating the cultural program, and the Student Council President Akhil and his team for their cooperation.for their efforts in ensuring the event's success.
The formal event was completed by Dr Anargha and Mzs Wilma Lobo.

The event concluded with captivating cultural performances, including a Kathak dance, Western singing by Mr. Mark, and a mime performance portraying the life and legacy of Father Muller, dance by HPD staff, Eastern fusion group singing; compared by Ms Neha & Mr Namith.

As FMHPD celebrates this significant milestone, it looks forward to continuing its mission of Heal and Comfort. With a renewed focus on innovation and outreach, it aims to expand its impact and maintain its legacy as a leader in homoeopathic medicine production.
