Mangaluru, Nov 6 : The Annual sports meet for the year 2023-2024 at Ladyhill Victoria Composite P.U.College kicked off on October 26th 2024. The event began with a warm welcome for the chief guest Dr. HaridasKulur accompanied by the school band playing energetic music. Dignitaries present included the Joint Secretary Sr. Violet Tauro A.C., Heads of Ladyhill Institutions Sr. Jenifer A.C. of English Primary, Sr. Magdaline A.C. of Kannada Primary, P.T.A Vice president Mrs. Dhanalaxmi, Vice president of Alumni Association Mrs. Hithakshi and Teacher Irene.

The sports day commenced with the chief guest hoisting the school flag, marking the official start of the event. This was followed by a spectacular march-past, where students demonstrated synchronized movements that exemplified values of unity, consistency and team work. The chief guest received a salute from the marching contingent highlighting their discipline and spirit.

A prayer song set positive tone for the day. The inauguration of the sports day was marked by the release of the Doves and the lighting of flower pots, symbolizing peace and a new beginning. The highlight of the ceremony was the arrival of a symbolic flame. This flame was received by distinguished National Level Swimmers and India Book of Record holder inspiring all present with their achievements. Sports minister Akshaj administered the oath.

The chief guest in his speech encouraged the students to work hard, be it any field and strive for success, motivating students to aim high.

BanuPriya who won National level Drawing competition, Meghana Shettigar who made it “India Book of Records” and the Swimmers Rianna Dhrithi and Poorvi who have Qualified for National Level were felicitated by the dignitaries.

Students enthusiastically participated in various field and track events. Winners were awarded medals and certificates celebrating their achievement and hard work.

The program was compered by Teacher Elizabeth and Lecturer Seema. Vote of thanks was rendered by Lecturer Preethika.
