Arva - Bantwal, Sep 1 : ICYM Arva Unit, in collaboration with the Youth Commission, organized "YUVA MILAN - 2024" with the tagline 'A union of love and service' for all the youth of the parish on August 25, 2024, at St Peter Claver church hall.

The program began with a short inaugural ceremony. The dignitaries present on the dais included Rev. Fr. Elias D'Souza, the Parish Priest and President of the program; Dr. Joyston D'Souza, Joint Secretary of ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Representative of ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Mr. Steevan Pais, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Monica D'Souza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Jyothi Monteiro, Coordinator of all Commissions; Sushanth Fernandes, Secretary of the Youth Commission; Supreeth Fernandes, President of ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Mrs. Ashmitha D'Souza, ICYM Animator; and Anson Fernandes and Ashwitha Rodrigues, President and Secretary of ICYM Arva.

The event, anchored by Lenisha Pais, commenced with a prayer song, followed by Anson Fernandes welcoming the guests and the gathering. The inauguration was marked by cutting a ribbon and releasing a banner. Dr. Joyston D'Souza encouraged the youth to utilize the program to its fullest potential and emphasized the importance of progressing uniquely without comparisons. Rev. Fr. Elias D'Souza also inspired the youth with his motivational speech. Ashwitha Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks.

Following the inaugural ceremony, registration took place at 10:00 AM, and breakfast was served.

After registration and breakfast, Princia Fernandes introduced and welcomed the resource person, Mr. Anil John Sequeira, the youngest male to clear the Karnataka Civil Judge Examination and former President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese. He delivered an insightful talk on managing responsibilities, balancing a career with ICYM activities, and pursuing government jobs.

Post the talk, Mr. Jovel Fernandes, along with the ICYM committee, conducted various games and led the group in action songs. Mrs. Ashmitha D'Souza distributed prizes to the winners of the games. Members of ICYM Belthangady Deanery, including Monal Rasquinha (Secretary), Jaison Stephen Rodrigues (Vice President), and Vinod Rodrigues (Sports Secretary), were present throughout the day and assisted in conducting activities.

An enthusiastic group of 60 young participants attended the event. The program concluded with a lively Baila dance.
